Wafa Hasher AlMaktoum developed a creative mind and an artistic eye at an early age. Enrolling in multiple classes and attending various art seminars such as video and photography as well as graphic design, illustration and painting it was inevitable that she would grow up with a passion for art. She attended the Latifa School for Girls where she studied art as an A Level achieving a high grade, then she moved on to further studies where she earned her degree in Business Administration. In 2003 she attended Zayed University and 4 years later graduated with a Bachelor in Arts and Design. Wafa is an art and business graduate, and now runs her design studio (FN Designs) based in Dubai producing works across graphic and product design; branding, illustrations, and also develops art and design based consumer products and publications. Fn also hosts art related events that offers patrons and art lovers from across the United Arab Emirates an opportunity to see local artists at work and get acquainted with them on a personal and interactive level. Wafa also enjoys doing her own art work when she is not busy with the studio. She is also known as Jawa.

Female Dubai- United Arab Emirates National, I am a middle child who loves Harrods finest chocolate chip cookies, speaks three languages, and understands five. Have two degrees, the first in Business Administration and the other would be a Bachelor in Arts and Sciences; hates math. An artist and photographer by nature, and I cannot comprehend disposable cameras. I believe that I can carry a tune on an acoustic guitar, and an addict to Japanese animation as well as samurai swords. Two dogs and twelve cats were under my care at one point in my life. It’s obvious that I have an obsession with movies, thus owning over 1,000 DVDS and counting. Loves music and dance, loves to travel and explore the world and beyond i.e. wants to go to the moon one day. Platforms are not my favourite shoes, passionate about collecting books, I love reading and even more, love to write. I love the smell of Colombian coffee in the morning and I am a sucker for Starbucks. My favourite season is winter. I am the only female over twenty I know who stills plays video games with her brothers and is not shy to talk about it. Would do anything to know Cher’s beauty secrets, owns more makeup than I need or use. The phrase, “The tribe has spoken” actually makes sense to me. My favourite quote is: “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones” by Albert Einstein. Loves going swimming, biking and running. And finally my greatest wish -I am not a pessimist but I am not going to say world peace because it is impossible- is to own a black 1967 Ford Mustang one day.
